Thesis (M.S.)--Southwest Minnesota State University, 2007
This action research project examined the sophomore football student athletes' in-season and out-of-season grade point averages and credit loads at Southwest Minnesota State University, a NCAA Division II program, during the Fall 1995 academic year through the Fall 2002 Academic year. A total of 162 student athlete academic records were reviewed. Analysis of the data consisted of inferential statistics utilizing the t test for correlated means to compare the in-season and out-of-season grade point averages and credit load. Statistical data supported the null hypothesis that there was not a significant difference in mean grade point averages p = 0.32. The data did reveal a significant difference in credit load taken p = 0.007
