This special project documents two musical productions and one dramatic play that have been the product of three semesters worth of teaching drama classes at Keys School in Palo Alto. Every seventh and eighth grade students has been able to take part in either a play or musical as part of their school curriculum, in order to adequately prepare them for performing arts classes at the high school level. This project includes director's notes, commentary on the success of the program, and actual footage of the final productions
In addition, lesson plans for sixth grade theatre are included, following the standards that the State of California now follows for all public schools grades K-- 12 and the Backward Lesson Design enforced by the California Arts Project, a state funded subject matter project for professional development in the visual and performing arts
