It is anticipated that a leadership void will be created as an unprecedented number of senior leadership and faculty members retire in the community college systems. This will require that community colleges have a pool of prepared employees to fill the void. Many community colleges use a leadership development program to prepare the future leaders and this research seeks to determine if participation in a leadership development program may impact the leadership frame that is preferred. The Bolman and Deal Leadership Frame model was used to determine the preferred frame of leadership. These results were compared between participant and non-participants of leadership development programs to determine if participation may impact the preferred frame. Further analysis was completed to determine if position had an impact on the leadership frame preference of participants. This study was a fixed non-experimental comparative design to allow for future duplication of the study to improve validity and generalizability of the study. An analysis of the data did not show a significant difference in the preferred frames based on position or participation in a leadership development program. This study recommends that further research is need on specific leadership development programs to determine if participation in a specific program leads to the preference for a specific frame
