The general research problem addressed in this study was the effect of various factors on mental health counseling supervisors' comfort with sexuality. The specific research problem was the effect of mental health counseling supervisors' theoretical orientation and self-efficacy on mental health counseling supervisors' comfort with sexuality. The purpose of this study was to determine whether theoretical orientation and self-efficacy affect mental health counseling supervisors' comfort with sexuality, and if so, to what extent. A sample of 61 female supervisors and 24 male mental health counseling supervisors in the United States completed the Theoretical Evaluation Self-Test (TEST) and the Counselor Supervisor Self-Efficacy Scale (CSSES). The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with self-efficacy theory as the theoretical framework for understanding the factors influencing one's comfort with providing training and support to counselors regarding the issue of sexuality. Results of the multiple linear regression analysis suggested that mental health counselor supervisor self-efficacy significantly positively predicted comfort with sexuality among mental health counseling supervisors. However, therapist theoretical orientation did not significantly predict comfort with sexuality among mental health counseling supervisors. Findings can be used to train future counselors to ensure that lack of comfort with sexuality does not impact the treatment of patients with sexual problems. Findings can be used to train future counselors on the factors that can be overlooked to focus on factors that help in minimizing the lack of comfort with sexuality that impacts the treatment of patients with sexual problems. It is recommended that future research on the impact of supervisor self-efficacy and therapist theoretical orientation on mental health counseling supervisors' comfort level with discussing sexual matter with clients should be conducted using a variety of instruments and in more diverse settings
