Already as one of the most popular sports around the world, basketball now has a new rising subcategory under its discipline, the 3x3 basketball. Through the promoting of FIBA, the 3x3 is gaining more attention, and its international competitions are also held more frequently in recent years. In 2017, IOC announced the inclusion of 3x3 basketball into 2020 Tokyo Olympic, raised the popularity of this sport to an unprecedent height. As a lover of 3x3 basketball myself, and having the chance to study in Taiwan, I am allured to the local basketball culture and wanting to understand more about the general condition of 3x3 basketball in Taiwan, which motivates me to conduct this study.This study applies qualitative research method, and through in-depth interview with FIBA 3x3 players and coaches to understand the performance of Chinese Taipei Men's national basketball team at FIBA 3x3 tournament. The main purpose of this study is to analyze its historical background, international competition experiences, and future trends, aiming to provide some insights for future participants at FIBA 3x3. This study concludes that, in the selection of players, the team should foster more players with height, solid body posture, athleticism, long distance shooting ability, along with good teamwork awareness. Meanwhile, the understanding towards the regulations, venues and official game ball must be strengthen as well. This study also suggests establishing institutes that devoted into the training of 3x3 basketball players, and professionalized as 5x5 basketball, with players dedicate to 3x3 basketball games
