1950-1990 yillari arasinda yasanan ve adina "Soguk Savas" denilen donemin en onemli aktorlerinden SSCB, ozellikle 2.Dunya savasindan once hizmete actigi silah ve askeri arac ureten fabrikalari, savas sonrasinda bariscil urunler uretmek icin yeniden tasarlamistir. Ne var ki bu fabrikalarda calisan uretim insanlari teknik ve islevsel urunler konusunda basarili olsalar da, estetik urun tasarimi konusunda yeterli bilgiye sahip degillerdi. SSCB'de tasarim kavraminin gelismesine paralel olarak acilan tasarim okullari ve ozgun Sovyet tasarim anlayisinin olusmasina kadar gecen surecte cogu urunun bicim dili ve form yapisi Amerika Birlesik Devletleri'nde 1930'lu yillarda baslayan "Streamline" sanat akimindan etkilenmistir. Bu baglamdan yola cikarak, insan yasami icinde onemli yere sahip olan ev tipi buzdolaplarinin bicim dili ve form yapisi uzerinden anlatilmaya calisilmistir. Sirasi ile inceledigim konular; Endustriyel tasarim, form, islev ve bicim, kavramlari, SSCB'nin tarihsel, ekonomik, sosyolojik ve demografik ozelliklerinin arastirilmasi ve 1950-1990 yillari arasinda SSCB'de uretilmis ev tipi buzdolaplarinin fotograflar uzerinden bicim dili ve form yapisinin incelenmesi seklinde olmustur
USSR, which is one of the most important actors of the era called Cold War, transforms the weapon factories of World War 2 to domestic product fabrication centers. Despite the fact that the crew working in these factories are succesfull in desinging technical and functional pieces, they haven't got sufficient information about esthetic design issues. Most designs were influenced from American art fashion called Streamline of 1930s until the USSR have their own design facilities and design schools. Research issues in this thesis are industrial design, form, function and concepts of home type refrigerators which were produced in USSR in years between 1950 and 1990
