| The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Response to Intervention (RTI) in a rural Tennessee high school. The research reviewed achievement scores from the state-required end-of-course (EOC) testing and universal screener. In addition, the number of office disciplinary referrals and special education referrals were examined in relation to the implementation of interventions. While there was no significant difference between the groups on the value-added scores, there remained a significant difference between the control group and the four intervention groups. The number of behavioral incidents has declined over the last 4 years; however, the number of special education referrals has increased |
