The problem identified was strategies are needed as nonprofit church leaders endure problems surrounding the youth in the church, especially in areas such as bullying, sexting, and drugs. The exploratory qualitative study employed semi-structured interviews to garner information from 10 participants who were executive leaders in their nonprofit organization. Data was analyzed and coded by the researcher using the journal notes and audio recordings taken during interviews. Major themes that emerged from the interviews were communications and building trust, biblical principles and principles of love, education and training, and mentoring. The three prominent themes that emerged were understanding technology, getting to know the youth, and exploring difficult subjects. Resulting themes all contribute to defining strategies that will reduce youth suicide. Strategies must focus on individualized needs thus incorporating effective leadership style |
